New approach to support tourist business – tourists visiting Argentina will get 50% reimbursement of the expenses of a travel package. This decision has been accepted by local authorities in order to help local tourism business.
The aim of the law is to mitigate the economic and social impact of COVID19 on local tourism. Most travel agencies in Argentina stopped working in March 2020. This led to huge financial losses and the employees of tourist businesses started protest actions all over the countries. The government decided to help the tourist industry and plans to introduce a number of measures to support tourism in Argentina.
One of the measures to be introduced in Argentina is tax payment delay. They also consider reductions of payments and to support travel companies financially.
Local tourists who plan to travel in Argentina will get 50% of their travel package cost. There is one condition though – the money saved can be spent only for the new trips.
Foreign tourists currently are not allowed to enter the country, this is why the option of reimbursements for the costs for traveling around Argentina is for the local tourists mainly.
