Maeght Foundation is a museum of contemporary art. The Fondation Maeght is located on the hill called Colline des Gardettes near Saint Paul de Vence village. This is just about 25 km from Nice, in the South East of France.
The Foundation was established in 1964 by Marguerite and Aime Maeght. In 2014 the Fondation Maeght celebrated its 50th Anniversary.
The collection displays sculptures, paintings and ceramics representing all the forms of modern art.
The Maeght Foundation building was constructed based on the design by Josep Luis Sert, a Spanish Architect.

How to get to Foundation Maeght
Option 1 – travel to Maeght Fondation by car
The most convenient way to get to the Fondation is by car.
- Take A8, Exit 47 Villeneuve Loubet, Cagnes sur Mer, Vence coming from Marseille
- Exit 48 route Cagnes sur Mer, Vence coming from Nice or Italy
- Make sure to follow the signs for La Colle sur Loup / Vence: RD 436
Saint-Paul de Vence is located between La Colle sur Loup and Vence, fifteen minutes from the motorway.
Parking at the Fondation Maeght is free.
Option 2 – travel to Maeght Fondation by bus
If you are traveling to the Fondation from Cagnes sur Mer or from Nice, you should take line #40 – Nice – Vence by Saint Paul. Your stop will be St Paul village or the Maeght Foundation.
The walking time from the stop from the Fondation Maeght stop is about 10 minutes and approximately the same time if you are arriving at the St Paul Village stop.
The Maeght Foundation is a popular destination among the tourists arriving to the South of France. You can join a group tour, which is offered in the tourists’ offices. The dates of visit should be confirmed in advance.

Please note, the Last admission to the Fondation Maeght is allowed 30 minutes before closing time.
On the 24th and 31st December the open hours are:
10am – 4pm
Fondation Maeght may be closed occasionally due to unforeseen circumstances, please make sure to double check if the exhibition is open before you arrive.

Entrance fee to Fondation Maeght:
Adults: 16€
Concessions: 11€ (children 10-18 years old, students with ID, press)
Children under 10 years old, disabled visitors, Friends’ Society members, International council members of la Fondation Maeght have free access and no fee is charged.
